I don't think it was God that brought everyone together. It more than likely had more to do with family tradition or the proximity that you have to each other, not divine intervention from an all powerful deity. The fact you believe that the creator of the universe actually cares whether or not your family has dinner on Sunday or not is one of the most humanistic and prideful concepts.

Are your parents/grandparents/great grandparents christian/believe in God?

And a lot of those dudes come out more demonic than when they went in. I had a boy do bout 3 years and said he learned how to be a better criminal while he was looked up.

That is tru, many cats that go in come out being more of a criminal. BUT, I'm sayin for those who really want to change or those who go in who have been broken by jail. Nyggaz who do years in segregation or those who want to step away from gangs sometimes find a God that they never knew before

I know this might be :mindblown: for you to comprehend. But when I say to thanks to God for something, I..........am genuinely giving thanks to God :ohhh:

Whether it's for dinner or my defrost working smoothly in the morning. Again how can a self-claimed non-religious person even begin to question the hearts and motivations behind a believers pattern of giving thanks? Especially Since being thankful to God is obviously a concept that you have no familiarity with :leon:

meanwhile the people who swear jesus LITERALLY woke them up (not circadian biorhythms) and who give 50%+ to the church have NOTHING to eat.

I never force religion or spirituality on anybody. Some religious beliefs are absolutley rediculous in my opinion. BUT, I've seen people who don't believe in God or don't believe in religion get "real God fearing/religious/spiritual" when they are faced with some life or death shyt.

You know the saying, "everybody finds God in Prison or in a foxhole"
:manny:

No one says that.

Plus, saying "oh god" when something happens is a sociological response since everyone is so prone to the invasion of religion.

Its just an empty phrase people use out of habit. It doesn't have any power.

Plus, calling upon "god" when shyt goes down means you only think you can get out of the very situation that this all powerful being was responsible for putting you in AND it doesn't actually mean theres a god there or listening.

You all are so half assed with this religion thing its ridiculous.

You'd think they'd have figured out the plot holes already.

So how does exactly one show his thankfulness to God besides saying thanks and living in a way that reflects you truly appreciates the grace you've been given? Is there some verifiable method I missed that can be used to measure how thankful someone really is to God when they give thanks? :mjpls:

Nowhere in my previous statement was it said that you couldn't give thanks to your mother (or whoever prepared the meal in this specific circumstance) AND God. Why not both? Why can't I give thanks to God for giving my lovely mother the strength to cook said meal? Why can't I thank God for waking her up in the morning so she could prepare the meal?

Are any of those actions mutually exclusive? . Like Mowlgi said earlier you don't have to not do one to do the other.........seeing now that you have some sort of background in the church I would expect to you be able to understand this

God didn't wake her up. Her biological regulatory systems did.

Where is god with those who have no money or food?

Why do enjoy spending time with people you have already categorized as stupid?
Sounds torturous to me.

They themselves aren't stupid. Their religion is stupid.

But since religion is SUCH a non-factor to me, I don't even act like its legitimate so I overlook it.

Its just a flaw in their cognition.

I made my beliefs known to my friends and family.

I dont hold hands or bow my head. I told them that if I pretend, I'd actually be insulting their beliefs.

So I stand aside and wait. If one of my family members mentions me in their prayers for whatever reason, I thank them for their kind thoughts.

It bothers them that I feel the way I do, but they have become a lot more acceptable of it throughout the years.

But no, I don't lie or pretend to make them happy.

So, u have never heard of that saying? :comeon:

Don't kill the messenger bruh. There have been countless people who have never believed in God or religion, who have faced crazy situations ad have called on God to help them (Prison, foxhole, starin at death, cancer) Those are facts. Don't be mad at me because I'm simply stating facts

out of respect I close my eyes and bow my head like everybody else :manny:

This. I have a Baptist aunt who is heavily religious and sometimes borderline fanatical, but she's doing what she feels is right for her and does it out of sincerity, so when I go to the house for dinner I just go with the flow (even if I'm smiling inwardly) and say amen like everyone else.

Its nothing wrong with being spiritual, but the religion thing is another monster

I would actual reverse that. There is something wrong with being "spiritual," but there are positive values associated with religion. Believing in a God is just silly, believing in people (even though they may be fukk ups that happen to believe in God), values, order, art, literature, and will-to-power...I can get with that.

What do you do at family get-togethers when everyone prays? Do you pretend to pray with your eyes closed? I just stand there with my eyes open when they "bless the food." :childplease:

What about when nosy ass aunts or uncles or whoever start asking why you don't go to church?

Aye b...shut the fukk up. You sounding like a liberal fakkit right now. :bryan:

Try to be decent nikka. Nobody is asking much from your fakkit ass. You aren't exactly special. Try to be decent you fukking fakkit.

Nope.
I bow my head but with my eyes still open.

None of them ask why I don't go but I did receive pressure when my son was born to get him christened. I just kept saying "We'll see" over and over again until they finally just gave up.
