This moment was when wack nikkaz with no skills.
started to buck the culture and go jiggy too.
Hard to even watch this voice over pixar artist interview anyone. Like he was dope.
I bet if you ask him to spit anytime anywhere it is an excuse.

Or the huffest loud offkey yelling outdated form of wack nikka bullshyt ever.

The nerve of these wack nikkaz.

1998 really changed the landscape, and was probably the most divisible year. Every year prior had 1-3 artists jockeying for position the entire year, but '98 was truly seasonable. I guess since the labels were simply looking for that next superstar to put all of their eggs into that basket, coming off how '97 played out...they ended up stopping the push for the next.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I'd say this is the most accurate description. Though I'd say Nore was 1A & X was 1B in the summer, because the momentum of It's Dark & Hell Is Hot was still very strong into the summer. "How It's Going Down was the summer jam from that album. Ah, the days when albums had staying power beyond 2 weeks
Also X had Pull It with Cam’ron.

That summer he had his run but he wasn’t the HOTTEST. He was “one of” tho for sure. I dubbed that NORE album for so many nikkas that summer. Lol. But his shyt was def bumpin out every whip.

that was the summer i believe.
he ran over that kid on that bike on his bullshyt.
that made no sense whatsoever.

after he did that shyt.
If i remember right.
nikkaz was not having it at the metro when he performed.

All this talk about 98 makes you wonder why Hiphop TV shows and movies are scared to move past 96 :stopitslime:

Must be two 1998s

There was like 5 '98s. It really was broken up that much. X had the Spring. Canibus had a hip-hop head run between spring and summer. Nore had the summer on lock. Ja emerged end of Nore's run...Jay had the Fall, X had the Winter. Pun had a run before X in the Spring.

The difference between them and Nore is that their runs all faded into the next, but Nore's summer run ended sharply.

98... Nore was on the radio all night .. These 4 songs every night funk flex played this shyt. DMX and Jay-Z were on a bigger label but Nore shyt dropped between both albums and he had his 2 months where you would think he was #1

No lies Nore was Top 5 hottest rapper in 98
