Because it's an economically strong area that hasn't been hit as hard by the economic decline as much as other cities, and the population tends to skew more educated/affluent than most of America.

We eating good off that Federal Government teat.

:blessed:

If you can't eat good in DC there is something wrong with you.

I know people making $65,000 in inventory management.... jobs that only require a High School Diploma and usually pay $40,000 or less in other cities. I know blue collar workers making a pretty decent living out here and Capitol Police officers bringing in ~90k with overtime.

I dont see why the DC area is so expensive. It looks boring as fukk.

you buggin, DC nightlife is one of the best in the country IMO. Always some event or concert going on, especially if you're young and single, there are so many women in this area form ratchet hood DC jawns to classy, educated sisters to hipsters in Uptown

What sort of other "blue collar" fields are these ppl in? Not sayin :duck: at all, but as DC native the area seems more and more to me like its saying if you're not a yuppie/making over 100k :camby:

People that work for the Federal government are well compensated. Like I said, I know people that work as carpenters for the US Capitol or Inventory Management personel, making real good money with a highschool diploma.

I know DC has a high unemployment rate, but as a relatively new transplant, I see a lot of opportunities in the DMV area especially compared to other parts of the country.
