Me and my lil bro got our ps1 in '98 and didn't have a memory card for it until around 2000. I actually didn't know you were supposed save your progress When we first got that shyt and didn't have to start all the way over to get to our favorite levels in Spyro and Ape Escape

Goddamn I hated those bootleg memory cards...

Man, EVERYTIME I hit America and saw one of them shyts in Babbages or EB games, I'd be like "Man...don't get it..fukk the price. It gonna chip out on you." then I end up eventually copping, letting my guard down for like 3,4 months, boot it up and then bam...nothing. Progress gone. After like my second or third generic card, I done had like 2,3 genuine cards so I stopped relying on 'em as much and only kept multiplayer save files and other shyt on it. Rpgs and anything else I kept on the originals...but still, shyts was horrid but I stayed on 'em for a minute.

that struggle was real... I literally just left my shyt on all week... even now I still do that shyt out of habit cus of how many times I had to do that with the PS1 & Gamecube & Dreamcast. shyt right now on the desk I had my PS2 on for 3 days already. wii been on since yesterday just cus Im too lazy to save on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

The worst was i had my ps2 memory card in my pocket... and then my grandma washed my jeans. Surprisingly the shyt still worked all my data was corrupted though.

Didn't Tomb Raider have save slots, so if you died you had to start the level all over again

nikkas was playing Gran Turismo every weekend till you got the supras. didn't have a damn $20 memory card. when i got a PS2 first thing I asked for was TWO sony memory cards.
