I just hate traffic, so I prefer to stay in city centers if at all possible. From what I hear about DMV there are jobs all around the DMV so it isn't really just all the jobs being in DC and everyone having to drive into DC.

Yep. With the DMV, a good number of jobs aren't even in DC proper. I'd wager there sre more jobs outside the District than inside. My soon to be job is also outside.

Most people do decide to socialize inside DC, however.

I've only visited DC proper and I enjoy DC but I`m super straight on the weather.
