At the end of the day what is funny or not is subjective. He made some wild allegations under the guise of 'keeping it real' Where I come from this is no longer jokes.

look i like katt

but damn now no one funny but him now?

all tho others never been funny?

its like the after math of the slap

i kept hearing "chris rock never been funny'

:francis:

One of the things all of this has revealed that I had NO IDEA about is how much alot of Black women absolutely hate alot of the big name Black male comedians. I knew they didn't like Chris Rock, and I think alot of them don't care too much for Dave Chappelle. They're all team Katt because they want to see him tear into all these Black men. That in an of itself is no big deal - what else is new. I didn't didn't know they would rejoice at seeing him go in on Cedric The Entertainer, and others. Like what, y'all don't like Ceddy? This lowkey feels like watching the Red Wedding on GoT. It's shocking and unexpected.

Ever since the Black People v. nikkas joke, nikkas have been clamoring for a moment like the Will Smith incident.
Women started disliking Chris Rock after he started going Red Pill when he marriage was falling apart 15 years ago.

:russ:The revisionist history in this thread is crazy. I guess Def Comedy Jam, Nutty Professor, and Blue Streak doesn’t matter. I guess all the black movies that Rock started in doesn’t matter.
The fact that you’re naming movies when we’re referring to stand up :mjlol:

I'm pretty sure both Dave and Chris got their start and gained notoriety performing for Black audiences.

Dave was on Def Comedy jam way back in 93 and Chris was in there before Dave

I think more white people wouldve known him from Saturday Night Live, than black people wouldve known Chris rock. I dont think he was all that popular with either audience back then. But i think more whites probably wouldve known him since he was on SNL. And I think Chappelles movie Half Baked was more known by whites before black people got to it. I got to it late, but black people I would tell about it hadnt heard of it.

At least you know you’re in the minority :yeshrug:

You're referring to Dave chapelle as a person, we’re talking Dave chapelle as a comedian. I doubt you know a single black person that can name a single Dave chapelle comedy special. Like I said, black people only rock with Dave because of the chapelle show.

Dave doesn’t have a classic stand up special like seriously funny or pimp chronicals. There’s no classic Dave chapelle stand up joke.
You don’t speak for black people. WTF are you even talkin about? Black people been on Dave Chappelle. It was WHITE people who got hip to him from Chappelle Show and Half Baked.

My brother's keeper
Exactly, you have the comedians that white people exalt as funny and the comedians that black people say are funny. You’re not going to see comedians like Corey Holcomb or katt Williams being pushed by the white owned media but they’re on every black person’s favorite comedian list meanwhile the comedians like Chris rock, Dave chapelle, etc are loved by white people but to black people they really aren’t that funny.
dudes gonna have to start showing receipts at some point with these talking points. Rock's specials were in front of ALL black crowds. Just because they were able to do some cross over stuff down the road doesn't mean black people didn't find them funny.
