Mr Uncle Leroy
All Star
told you to stay in course when they classmates where throwing digs
Damn i been arrested before but that was in my freshman year over some school shyt.
I know they're opening a couple of new casinos in the Dallas city. So thats good
O Nt
I got an AoS degree it took 15 months. I lived at home with my wife and worked my regular job. I started work at 7 went straight to school at 5. Did school work before class started at 530 and got home at 11. Went to bed and same routine again. I've gotten lots of opportunities from school but it's all about drive. It's not stressful to me but it can be. Especially the first time you get a rush at a restaurant and are short handed.
Cool, was it expensive?
Where I went it was 31k. Place like Culinary Institute of America can run upwards of 60k.
are good grades required for scholarships there?
Nope they take anybody who's willing to pay. I didn't get any scholarships and am paying for it all from loans and I was fortunate enough that my job has a tuition reimbursement program that paid back 6k of it. It's pricey, but I learned so much and it was definetaly worth it.
Oh ite thats good stuff. So you have to pay the money upfront then you're in?
Thing is, since culinary school is way shorter than a 4 year degree, you dont have as much time to save up cash to pay bacc the loan once u graduate right?
No upfront money. Then once you complete you start paying back after 6 months. Then it's monthly fees.
Ite
hopefully my stint at the collge i was at doesnt affect any financial aid for this school or watever
It shouldn't as long as you are paying on your loans.
So you have to take basic classes like history and shyt?im going for Culinary, now.. just finished all my Gen. Ed, and starting this semester, for the next year I'll be doing strictly Culinary..
i get grants, and took out a small loans(mainly because I moved to NC randomly).. as for the Culinary program, you have to maintain at least a C average to even be in it, and maintain no less than a C in all the classes(i got a 3.7, so Im good), not to mention theres a serious waitlist..
if you can cook, I'd suggest it.. alot of people think their gonna go and learn how to cook..thats only one portion of it..
as for work, it depends on how much you apply yourself.. but one things for sure- people will never quit eating..
