I have Duncan, Shaq, Magic, Hakeem, LeBron, MJ, Wilt, Russell, Kareem & Bird all ahead of him. Just a spot outside the Top 10 :francis:

Robertson and Malone over Kobe and LeBron? :ld:

Those two have a total of 1 title between the two of them.
Lebron will finish higher than both.
Malone might be a stretch. I'll give you that. But he was dominant for his entire career and the only thing in his way was the best player ever.

I'm not trying to disrespect Kobe but the fact of the matter is that the aethetics of his game is what makes people rate him higher than he probably should be.

For me, his longevity is his greatest attribute. I never saw him as standing out to the extreme that his stans claimed he did.

He preferred to play in a way that glorified him. He is generally accepted to win playing his own way but he didn't. When his team was winning, he was playing more like LeBron than Psycho Bean.

He is unfairly compared to Jordan but the difference is Jordan would get the trifecta of top scorer, the MVP, and the championship. Kobe never had more than one of those in any season. He had to sacrifice in one area to excel in another.

I would probably rank him higher if he had accepted the playmaker role throughout his career like his peers did.

Which one of his peers accepted the playmaker role? Jordan was a gun, Bird was a gun, Wilt gun, Kareem, Shaq. So you only have Oscar, Magic and Lebron - O was a "combo", Magic was the 1, and Lebron wants to pass first. But the rest of them are all cut from that same cloth

No way are Karl Malone & Oscar Robertson in the Top 10.....but Kobe isn't:shaq2:

Oscar Robertson only won 1 ring with KAJ and none without KAJ while Karl Malone never won a ring period.

He didn't really list any of 6-10 though, just a few names a "a bunch competing." I was just wondering, for you to rank someone in Top 10, you have to win a ring? What about other accomplishments? O still only player to avg a Triple double, even with that lone '71 ring. He actually came close several other times. I think the closest 2 after that were Kidd & Russy. Then you have Bill who won his 11, with ridiculous video game rebounding numbers, but still not ranked higher than Jordan or Wilt or Kareem. And Mr. 50 & 25 only has 2 rings.

My point is, is it individual greatness or rings? From greatness and stats alone, Malone belongs in the discussion. He's not Top 10 to me, but I wouldn't think twice if some argued for it.

Where do you have Kobe ranked all time?

5 time champion
#3 on all time scoring list
15 all nba teams
12 all nba defensive teams
3 time MVP
18 time all star
4 time all star game MVP

Fixed *

You started padding with personal opinion.

I know you can come up with more facts.

it seems like some of you people have never watched a game of basketball before with this top 2 or 3 nonsense.

anywhere between 5 and 10 is the acceptable answer if you're not being a homer or prisoner of the moment, both of which are apparently running rampant itt

I'm not talking about pass first. I'm just talking about making the right play consistently. If that is taking your own shot that's fine.

It's both.

The true legends of the game did both (sustained individual greatness for at least a 10 year span & won multiple rings), not 1 or the other. Kobe has unlimited accolades...more than Karl Malone and Oscar Robertson. He also has more Championships than both of them combined.
