This aint pop
They’re more so pop.
R Kelly another one who would've been up there with Usher, but he like young girls too much.
I'm taking in terms of current popularity and status. Not where he was previously
Would have been up there???
Do you not know when Kells 1st came out???
Here we go with the bu bu bu bu Chris Brown shyt
For the slow ones, pop and r&b is not the same
Bruno blew making Gorilla, the Lazy song and When I See Your Smile. Songs that are super pop and aimed at pop listeners only. This is a circular argument to me tho cause to blow up to the level of being an unquestioned "superstar" you can't make music just for the real RnB heads
Bruno especially has been putting out some of the most old school RnB music in years; my dad loves it and he's from the era of Stevie Wonder/Marvin Gaye/Prince/Maze etc
Yes true but keywords in the title R&B SUPERSTAR. I feel like the problem here is that R&B has became so watered down over the last 20 years that we have changed the definition of R&B. The true definition of R&B to me is the strong voices and passion that those artists in the 70s 80s and early to mid 90s had. CB dont have the vocal skills and discography to sit in that tier with the greats of the past. My personal opinion R Kelly is the last true R&B superstar.Chris Brown got more range than Usher. Everytime Usher does something outside of R&B it feels forced.![]()
Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign was singing everybody’s hooks for a good few years, etc.

Weeknd is pop music.Does the Weeknd count? I'd say Weeknd is a superstar IMO.

This question is being posed in response to the acknowledgement of his legacy at the SB. So y’all saying Chris Brown are saying you feel that gonna put this nikka up there in 10 years to sing, dance, and reflect on international success
