you call this pop? are there any hooks that's being sung like Drake is doing on this entire album? nah bruh

:what:

Dude's talking about the Spice Girls, Nine Inch Nails, Pamela Anderson and stupid shyt like that with a goofy sing-song chorus on some Bloodhound Gang shyt (also Interscope, what a coincidence :jbhmm:).

How old are you, breh? Because "My Name Is" was straight up pop when it came out. Cutesy, jokey suburban pop-rap.

Y'all acting like Em came out with It Aint Hard To Tell or some shyt like that. Dude was a pop rapper from jump. The sound of pop always changes because pop vultures whatever's the real shyt at any given moment. But we know pop when we hear it - at least I do.

10 streams of a song from an album = 1 sale

He put 20 songs on there to basically get double album figures as far as streaming is concerned

But he's projected to do/did 800-850k just purely off album sales

So anytime I go on Apple Music and listen to Illmatic in its entirety, Nas just sold an album?

The song is pretty poppy man. Don't lie. Yeah he's rhyming better than 99.99% of pop rappers are but the beat and hook is pretty poppy.

i think it's more impressive with Em, dude came out the gate rapping his ass off. had underground verses and all, got signed by Dr. Dre and took off after that. Em just started to go full pop. Drake been pop since he started.

I have no problem with Em's skills he's just not who should be the face of the culture in 15-20 years.

And Drake should be seen as pop rap perfected. Or maybe better put, the nail in the coffin of rap going full blown pop. Meaning mainstream media now completely controls the narrative, the mainstream media played no part in Nas and Jay but look what it did with Drake and Meek.
