"Real nikkaz" was a flawless late 80s type diss record

Not saying the OPPS name on some G shyt, hard ass beat, lyrical as hell, dope as a song first and as a diss second

normally this song would have killed him and that would be that

too bad it was the 90s now and Ice Cube was ahead of his time...:wow:

Now, I know we usually talk about Ice Cube's No Vaseline, and we generally agree that Cube won the battle between he and NWA.

But yo, this shyt right here:whew:

-Top notch production by Dre and Yella

-Ren went the fukk in on this track. Anyone saying he was some random dude in the group after hearing this is nuts. Honestly, you could argue that on the lyrical tip, he might be better than Cube.

-Dre and Eazy's verses (probably written by Ren, can someone confirm?) were tough.

-Yella speaking in the track.

-This track has mad replay value. As a song, its dope as fukk.

-Track was so dope, its no wonder Cube responded by going for the kill with No Vaseline.

-Concerning that Ren penned most of post-Cube NWA material, this lowkey felt like a Ren Vs. Cube situation, on the bars tip. Probably why Cube went in on Ren on No Vasoline.

And despite everything, they all cool with each other today, go figure:manny:

Only people that say Ren was just some random cat in NWA is obviously some young cat or dummy who just watched the movie. Ren was arguably the best rapper in the damn group.

I'm just now learning part of Eazy's verse wasn't dissing Cube.

He was dissing a group called Mob Style. They had a song called Untouchable where they dissed Compton. According genius:
----------------
"Black, the good, the bad, the ugly, you see
A little streetwise nikka, you know me" - Eazy-E

A diss towards NY rap group Mob Style, referencing their album “The Good, the Bad, the Ugly”.

“Streetwise” is also a title of one of their songs.

This was a response to the song “Untouchable” in which they dissed Compton.
----------------

:ohhh:

It was great at first but Cube knocked them down one by one in " No Vaseline"...and then the title of the song itself is perfect.

Song and album are both beyond classic, Ren proved he could hold his own on here (although to me, however, he proved it more on Shock of the Hour).

However:

Honestly, you could argue that on the lyrical tip, he might be better than Cube.

:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Ren in no way, shape or form was a better writer than Cube at that time (when Cube was still with them). Never....and no one AT THE TIME thought it, either.

The REAL competition was between Cube and DOC....which is who (DOC) wrote the majority of that album (efil4zaggin) after Cube left. As the liner notes show, Ren wrote all his own stuff on there, and The DOC wrote ere'body else's stuff.

It's crazy, because Cube once said in the past that the majority of America's Most Wanted was stuff that was going to be on that second NWA album, and he just took it with him instead when they fell out. That's how he was able to drop the album and the EP like that.

Dang, imagine what America's Most Wanted would've sounded like over Dre beats instead of Bomb Squad beats....imagine "Once Upon A Time In The Projects" bein an Eazy-E song instead of a Cube song...:ohhh:...hell, it probably WAS, that song would have been perfect for Eazy. :wow:

Cube said he wrote the for Eazy. “Come sit on the lap of Eazy E”

classic and one of my fav NWA tracks ever, I went nuts when I heard it on 100 Miles. Ren was always my favorite in the group because of his freestyle rhymes even though Cube was clearly the better writer. Cube was great in the group but much better as a solo artist. also outside of Ren's verses, D.O.C. wrote the majority of N4L
