I was raised literally right by Shea and my family is 100% Mets fans on all sides. I never had a choice. Totally ok with that though. Teams hasn't always been good but they've given me many great memories growing up.

Mets is a Queens thing, and that Dwight Gooden VHS my mom got for me when I was like 6
The 1st year I was able to understand basketball (1993), the Knicks ran the city, the Nets weren't even a thought. The 1st NBA game I ever went to was Knicks vs. Suns. All I remember is the Knicks won, and Barkley chased the ref into the stands after the game. I was hooked after that

Mets cause I grew up in Southside. I never at any point of my life liked the Yankees. All their fans were fukkn dikk riders imo. shyt didn't make sense to me to cheer for a team that played outside my borough. Till this day I give Yankees fans from Queens the 
Knicks cause they're the hometown team! I was born in 88 so I was watching some prime ass nba on nbc knicks games. I'd be in the basement with my pops, dunking on those hoops you could attach to the wall, to Pat Ewing and all of em. I hated Jordan growing up. Real shyt I didn't admit Jordan was a good basketball player til the 5th grade (98).
Rangers cause they represented the city.
Giants cause my uncle played for them and all the Jets fans I came across as a youngin were white and/or italians from staten island or long island. Did not meet a single black Jets fan till like jr high. Till this day the only diehard black jets fan I know is from long island and we met in college.
Also fukk anybody on that "I rep whatever NY team is winning" shyt. Grow some nuts and pick a side.

Yankees- BX, self-explanatory.
Rangers- got sucked in when the Rangers did well in the early 90s. Still hold a special place in my heart because they were the first pro squad I saw win it all.
Jets- gotta learn to live with regrets, but I stick with them. Surprised I didn't just rock with the Giants, but I was just drawn to the Jets.
and I don't fukk with either local basketball squad even though I don't really hate either.

Mets...My Dad was a Mets fan, was raised that way and it'll be a cold day in hell before my son becomes a Yanks fan
Dolphins...My Dad was a Jets but when they moved to Jersey he became a fan of their biggest rival and he always hated the Giants. I'll probably raise my litlle guy a Jets fan though. Both franchises suck (Dolphins and Jets) but at least he can watch the Jets every week.
Rangers... Parents finally got an illegal cable box, don't know why I chose the Rangers. Watched both them and the Islanders and it was during the 92-93 season when the Rangers missed the playoffs and the Islanders went to the Conference finals

Mets- got into them around 98-99. They were fun to watch. Never liked the Yankees and never will.
Knicks- was a Bulls fan growing up. Loved Jordan. Tried to stay with them after he retired but I couldn't. Kukoc was my nikka though. Had to start rep the Knicks in the very late 90s. Don't have a problem with the Nets, especially since they move to BK. My favorite sport growing up btw.

Yankees - Bronx Born And Raised, First Sport I Ever Got Into, Lived Like 6 Stops On The 4 Train From Yankee Stadium. First Game I Ever Went To Was In 87-88 (I Was 5-6) Don Mattingly & Dave Winfield Were My Favorite Players.
