Has nothing to do with NY.

Launching a TV Channel is some tough shyt to pull off. Making it successful is nearly impossible. This may have worked for Puff in the late 90's. But people aren't watching TV the same as they were back then, analysts have been crying about this forever. So I'm not sure why he wanted to do this. I get why, being that it's a big move and all. But I don't see how he thought it'd take off. It's tough right now for indie-owned media.

Not happening. Most of cable TV are also provided by isps.
Its happening... They are trying to fight it but you can't stop change. They are tying to charge per use billing to combat people watching more online content and dumping their cable packages. Just like the music industry helplessly tried to stifle the digital age. History will repeat itself and consumers will embrace whatever service provider gets it, hence why Google is trying to buid their own networks and bypass these old relic ass cable companies.

it's weird. they say comcast partially owns revolt, but I have comcast, and do not have that channel available.

its included on my comcast package. They show a simulcast of the Breakfast Club in the morning and I may turn it on every once in a while before I leave the house. It really has no stand out programming.

Diddy needs to bring back Making The Band.

The culture of Hip-Hop and R&B is way different now then back in 2003.

Also,
This is not an L for NY and has nothing to do with it. All yall need to give NYC more respect since it's the birthplace of Hip-Hop.

We actually need channels like this to supper the arts. Just give it some time I'm sure it will find its confortable stride in music television.

my lil 2 cents...

puff should make it available to everyone online around the world...

host concerts and other major activity events like redbull do...

but he also needs to brand it like virgin, the reason Richard branson popped off and got every1 talking was because he was doing crazy shyt like flying around the world while advertising his company virgin...

im sure diddy will find a way though:takedat:

I dont know, but he needs to fill another gap and try serious Black programming rather than more mindless entertainment.
Music videos are dead because artists are no longer worth seeing visually..music over the past decade has been really cheapened to the point where music is now a disposable fast product. As someone with his pulse on whats happening, he shpuld have known better.
I havent seen this Revolt, but he needs strong series, sports and Black news.

Probably one of diddy's worst investment. i understand that he wanted revolt to be the espn of music, but our attention span is too short and we don't need that much information from one source anymore.

I told y'all way back that this was a BAD IDEA

Mainly cause COMCAST was FORCED into allowing minority led networks by Congress...they wasn't gonna do right as far as making it appealing to advertisers

or much less promoting it...I don't even think it's offered on my Comcast service :why:

they treated it like a Section 8 network

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/diddy-is-now-worth-780-million.179144/page-9

Comcast did Oprah like that in the beginning she had to beg Comcast to broadcast it in HD

but Diddy shouldn't worry his DADDY aka RON BURKLE will bail him out since he is one of the hedge fund investors and owns Sean John anyway

:russ: always good to have some White Friends

Great Post, just one thing, Oprah was smart enough to join forces with Discovery Networks, that was her saving grace. When Own was out there by themselves it was rotting on the vine. I told these dudes just a couple of weeks ago, Diddy didn't own that network.

She had no choice...I don't care how much money Oprah got the DISTRIBUTION GAME is too political and corporate for one entity especially a black woman to have or as Dame Dash said..."it gets GANGSTA"

these are NOT exclusive minority networks....they just have a Black face for, imagery like Magic Johnson miserable ASPIRE network .

but fortunately Oprah has a Cash Money like joint venture she has 50% and controls the content..and remains independent while Discovery handles the distribution and operational services and tech affairs with the cable providers
