These things would change the quality of life dramatically for black people:
1. An increase in the minimum wage
2. Free or heavily subsidized child care
3. Free or heavily subsidized post secondary education.
4. Rent control and pro tenant legislation
5. Anti-union busting legislation.
6. Redistribution of police budgets into crime prevention programs and anti-recividism programs.
7. A public Healthcare option.
8. Increased funding for public schools.
9. Increased funding in public transportation.

All of these policies are generally popular among the public, and the time when black wealth grew the most was when democrats still supported the new deal. Black people are overrepresented in minimum wage service industry jobs. Black people are less likely to be able to afford child care. Black people are overrepresented in bad credit statistics making it harder for us to get loans for college or to start a business. Black people are underrepresented in home ownership rates. Rent subsidies and tenant protections give us the opportunity to actually save money for housing. Unionized workers make more money and have better benefits, black people are not in enough unionized work places and those who are have higher job security. Job security is important for black families. Black neighborhoods are safer when the people who would commit crimes are redirected or allowed to integrate into the community if they've been incarcerated. Black men are overrepresented in the prison statistics and a big reason why people go back to jail is because they don't have job prospects when they get out. Black people have a lower life expectancy partially because so many of us have no health insurance or have terrible coverage.

White wealth on average is higher, they wouldn't even qualify for some of these things, but enough of them would to the point where they would get activated and vote. They dont care about pronouns and all that other shyt, they want to know if the person in charge will improve their lives. They have the luxury of not being political if they don't want to be, black people dont. Programs that help us are always what rich whites and their pet minorities want to cut. A small enough percentage of white people who would benefit from these universal programs would show up to make enough of a difference and black people who currently are struggling with any of these things above would 100% have a reason to get out and vote for that.

Flooding the country with illegal immigrants will hurt Black Americans. Also, the policies that you outlined would help marginally but it they would not close a wealth gap. We need baby bonds for generationally poor Black Americans. We need reparations for Black farms that were cheated etc.

So you mean... before unfettered illegal immigration?

You don't understand what's happening in this city. Wp want those programs now, to subsidize their serf class. Their pet minorities will ride those programs all the way from illegally selling tapas right into city contracts while nikkas still getting tased for bbq'ing on that same street.

yall never think about second order effects :francis:

You think NYC is expensive now!?
its gonna make the cost of living in San Fransisco look like Jackson Mississippi

Actually NYC is going to turn into another San Fran :deadrose:

Black folks trusting the government with more power will always confuse me...
the same government yall say needs to be defunded (Police).
Same government that ran test on us...
same government that will be ran by the majority (White folks and then Hispanics)

We never learn

If he gets into the office, he’s going to be as much of a failure as the current mayor of Chicago, but whatever people need to learn hard lessons about actual economics and political reality. Enough hand holding.

Progressive politics>>>>>>

FOH with doomsaying.
Selling dreams and lying is respected, but it leaves you open to attack from unfulfilled promises. His lack of understanding of basic economics is appalling, but you can’t expect everyone to have the same standards as you. I’m not surprised he appeals to people who don’t actually know what the fukk they’re talking about.
