Dawg, my IG is INSANE right now. Every other post in my feed is cope about this guy. Like the level they are going is out of bounds.
AOC, Ilhan, and other Squad members got a lot of hate but not to this level. It's really got me trying to figure out why.
He did state that more units would be bulitthere are already examples of what happens in areas with rent freezes.
Quality goes down, people dont move causing less affordable options for people (long wait list), prices in outside areas go up...
in short nothing really changes...things get worse in certain ways.

Even if people build more housing once the city appraises them in up and coming neighborhoods.. the landlord would raise rents regardless... and we right back at we started because we can't afford to live there...
Problem is the appraisals and levels of rent prices in these neighborhoods... Some sort of rent control across the board in each borough is needed. Also a law where city values cannot go higher to a point where the residents cant afford it is needed. NYC used to be more diverse where you know where the poor parts is. and the rich parts is. nowadays everywhere is expensive. So all the values across the five boroughs have went up???

Why can't you introduce rent controls until the supply of housing increases? Plenty of other countries have rent controls in place now. This is about greed not economics.
