I think people on the left are starting to realize that getting half of what they want is better than nothing. Plus, winning is a nice feeling and to win you have to build coalitions. Zohran keeps emphasizing he wants to build bridges and a movement in NYC. And that involves with people you don't agree with everything on.
Of course, assuming he wins in Nov, we need to see how he will govern. He has only 4 years in the state legislature and no executive experience. I'm sure he'll probably bring Brad Lander or someone like that to help him.
