I really wish him the best and congratulate him on his win, but a lot of the issues in NYC aren't unique and are globally linked to a bunch of structural problems in our economy and monetary policy. The best case for Mamdani, but maybe bad for NYC'ers short term, would be a financial crash, particularly in real estate that would give the city government leverage over the developers, business class, etc. to do right in exchange for relief. Just handing out tax breaks to get business will move nothing as we have seen in the past.

the problem is you cant build in NYC because of bureaucracy...
its the same case for most major cities.

NIMBY has nothing to do with right or left because neither party wants more affordable housing if it means building near them.

Local government mismanage funds and make it financial impossible for anyone to build...
and then they blame others for the issue
