Obama used his first term boost to get the ACA for the same reason. Trump did the same shyt for the BBB. If he wants the taxes to do what he wants he has to threaten Hochul with her choice of poisons. Also FYI the BBB is a massive tax break for the wealthy. He’s basically lowkey trying to implement a SALT situation. Cause they use to not pay federal and only pay state and local taxes. In a round about way none of this is wild. Him going after property taxes is him expressing how far he will go to get that wealth tax.


He’s not worried about Republicans…. Hochul is the one running and if you look at NY state her only real threat is to her left. The Republican Party in NY state is in disarray. The two republicans who were considering running against her Lawler and Stefanik and going to STRUGGLE to keep their own districts let alone win the state. All of this on the surface seems brash but if you look at the big picture…. It’s now or never and Mamdani has the wind to his back.
