No he isnt you can tell hes genuine and extremely full of himself and believes hes above being mocked..

His niche audience isnt the one making fun of him anyway, he has tons fo die hard 50 plus year lod white fans who think hes some sports genius and find yankee talk 365 days a year captivating

Oh there's no doubt he's completely full of himself....but he's also a businessman. He knows this stuff drives ratings-his niche audience is changing and he takes pride in not changing, which causes conflict and its good radio. Listen to the show- people are calling in all the time making fun of him for these Terry Collins reports no one cares about, or the Mets/Yankees offseason. Him being completely full of himself, not changing, not utilizing the internet is part of the act. He loves taking off the entire summer and then fielding calls making fun of him for not working because it allows him to be that arrogant personality that drives listeners.

Obviosuly there's still the serious callers living in the stone age, asking Mike his opinion on something a simple google search will tell you...but the younger crowd is a huge part of his audience now. The kid that did the parody is 24.....there's a ton of these kids doing this on twitter.

There's no such thing as a fascinating off season. Will they sign Cano or will they not? Boring...

He's got kid gloves with the Knicks because he's scared of Dolan and knows nothing about hockey. The Knicks have potential to be a fun topic but he wont touch them. Plus the NFL itself, even if the Giants and Jets both stink, is a big story always.

Yup anyone whos watched him for a long time can see its not an act his clearly that full of himself and out of touch,just look at the reactions when a caller prank calls him and how quickly he dismisses him and how agitated he gets even though he will keep telling you hes not, thats a genuine reaction by him its not pre planned or staged.

I wouldnt say he has no sense of humor theyres times he can be funny whren knocking others like the time he ripped Dan Patrick a new hole and said he couldnt find his ratings with a microscope but as far as self humility and laughing at himslf he has no ability to do so,probably because of insecurites form his weight and father abandoning him

I see where you coming from but I'm 28 and Mikes been taking summers off since I'm a kid. And Mike is still the same arrogant prick he was since I was a kid. I do agree that a lot of the younger crowd listens to him because he is arrogant and so they can mess with him but I don't think he is in on the act as much as you think. He still thinks RBI's are important. The whole concept of the show now is comedy, the screener lets these guys through knowing theyre going to bust his balls. I think Mike had to have known about it in the office; Evan Roberts came on yesterday asking Benigno if he had seen it. He said he had seen it the night before, came into the office yesterday morning to show it to everyone, and they were already talking about it. Unless nobody there has the stones to step to Mike about it, he absolutely was aware of it.

Oh I totally believe he lives in a time warp. I also believe he's totally aware of how much it's helping his show.

I think he still watches alot of nfl on sundays and Yankee and Met baseball just not much NHL and NBA but he never has,i think his love for the nfl is souring a little because of the rule changes agianst the defenses he hates, alot of players getting in trouble with the law,the celebrations and endzone dances etc hes way too cosnevative to deal with these days the leagues getting too young and black for him,not that hes a racist he just doesnt identify with todays nfl imo

His real problem is because hes so anti blogs/twitter universe and even espn who he hates and refuses to watch because of competiton he has no idea whats going on in the sports world as far as news unless its Yankee baseball

Even the nfl i think alot of his contacts are now gone becasue theyre mostly old coaches out of the league,
