Rizzo's been good at it and the scenario doesn't discourage it, but up 5-3, the Yankees were hitting frozen ropes. No need to necessarily manufacture there. Boone sucked the energy outta that rally.

If Carpenter is getting lifted in the 6th inning because they're worried about him in LF, don't play him in LF at Fenway. Wanna experiment with Carpenter in LF? Do it in Pittsburgh. Do it this week against Cincinnati. Carpenter plays twice a week and got lifted for a guy whose batting average is in Morrisania. I'll live with Carpenter if his defense is ehh in LF, but nothing indicated that we needed a defensive upgrade there tonight.
