man fukk all that. Gallo is hitting (short sample size) .261.

Yankee fans would praise him forever if he ever had a stint hitting that well for us. He never did. Instead we kept being told by nerds that "nah he's just unlucky. The hits will come. He's due." It never came. And instead of calling a spade a spade, it was this idea that we should consider a sub .200 hitting outfielder valuable.

All Boone could really do was stop playing him so much and to his credit, he did.


What Gallo is proving short term is that some players simply can't make it here. There's no formula or stat that can foresee or dictate that and that bothers people who think they can calculate the future.
