syria was getting overthrown regardless... the US just wanted influence on whichever group would take over
So he lost some proxy soldiers. I don't think that's as bad as you're making it out to be. US getting it cheap it Iraq and Gaddafi out the way opened up business in africa. Bin Laden powned. Foreign policy been winning like a mug compared to the last 3 cacs in office

the American people don't want another war... so why start a war when the outcome isn't going to make or break our foreign policy aspirations?
Then why did Obama get involved with Syria by conducting airstrikes against Assad's forces?Obama doesn't think. He went ahead and removed Moammar Qaddafi from Libya without a plan on who was going to replace him. Now Libya is a destabilized country with many different factions fighting for power because Obama decided to act without using his brain. Watching this happen,Russia decided to step into Syria so there's not another Libya.

So he lost some proxy soldiers. I don't think that's as bad as you're making it out to be. US getting it cheap it Iraq and Gaddafi out the way opened up business in africa. Bin Laden powned. Foreign policy been winning like a mug compared to the last 3 cacs in office

What?!

This is the biggest foreign policy blunder the 21st century has ever seen. The entire world is watching Russia go counter to America's interest in Syria, a country, the American forces had an objective but were derailed or bullied by Russia. I know you're smarter than this. We both know that America was in Syrian airspace first then Russia came and said stay the fyck out the North you bytch ass trick and Barack Obama complied like a hoe.

Accept the truth.

So he lost some proxy soldiers. I don't think that's as bad as you're making it out to be.

However those proxy soldiers are running for their lives now that Russian combat soldiers are on the ground in Syria hunting those American founded proxys. America's now thinking about jumping ship on Syria basically leaving all of the CIA trained proxys at the mercy of professional Russian killers.

Imagine if that was you in Syria left hanging to dry by America after they supplied you with all these weapons, but now they're jumping ship leaving you to the Russians.

US drops ammunition to rebels fighting ISIL in Syria

when did america jump ship?
we are still providing the same limited support we did before?

1. umm.... libya has a semi stable government and they are decided at this very moment on their future in the UN. Their civil war is over. There is only political posturing by different groups before they vote on their new central government

2. libya was going to be toppled by their own people with/without the help of the US.... the U.S. had a very minor role in the revolution... basically the same as syria... trying to make sure the victors were at least more pro west that the previous government.

3. For the record, the biggest military blunder of the 21st century was Bush's response to 9/11 by invading iraq....

Obama's military advisers advised him to withdraw from Syria. These are senior officials within Obama's cabinet.

1.Fyck you, Libya is a destabilized shyt hole where multiple Islamic factions are fighting for power.
Three years and three prime ministers since Qaddafi was killed, Libya's got very real problems.

Libya still unstable three years after uprising - Politics - ANSAMed.it

2. Wrong. Moammar Qaddafi had his opposition surrounded in one city until the U.S along with other western countries decided to not only bomb MOMAR Khadafi, but to also fund opposition groups against him. Sound familiar? That's when Qaddafi lost power.

3. The invasion of Iraq was not as bad as Obama withdrawing American troops from Iraq prematurely which resulted in isis taking over the entire country.

Deflecting much?

The Russian economy good or bad has nothing to do with Barack Obama backing down from Putin when he demanded U.S fighter planes stay out of northern Syria while Russian bombers decided to conduct air strikes.

@Barnett114

1. you use russian propaganda websites as your source on US foreign policy?.....sputnik news lol

2. it's only 3 years after a complete revolution and removal of a dictator. libya is closer to having a functioning government and UN seat than 3 years ago. How fast do you expect governments to be formed and become 100% functional?

3. the NATO resolution that sealed khaddafi's fate cannot be placed solely on the U.S. hands.... Russia and the rest of europe had as much veto power as we did...

Most people agree and side with Russia's air raid.

America was conducting air raids on a sovereign nation illegally and trying to remove an elected official (Assad) outside of UN frame work, and he's the only man actually putting in any work on ISIS (along with the Kurds), you remove him, you will lose Syria to ISIS 100%. We can't have that. The Generals are to blame for not having an end goal past petty air bombs on positions they barely have intelligence one. It was bound to be a Libya 2. Russia, having been close to Assad had all the logistics of knowing who the rebels and invaders are, no one knows the land better than him. Russia is hammering everyone thats not legitimate and are doing it within legal frames since Assad is the legitimate govt recognized by the U.N

great chess move by Putin, terrible planning but the generals (as per usual). I hope this will end our involvement/fukkery in the M.E. Folks are starting to see these refugees and think twice about arming rebels and air raiding cities. That blow back is real.

How is russias military commitment to syria a great chess move?

1. The war started when Assad was murdering protestors
2. Russia has been supporting Assad since before the war. It's only when russia saw the possibility of Assad actually losing that they had to commit to the whole situation.

Every move russia is making is defensive... from Crimea to Syria...
