you might agree with it but a lot of people don't. syria isn't really a scandal but the fact is there are a lot of people who truly believe the US has a moral obligation to step in and handle these types of issues around the world. i'm trying to view this from a historical standpoint. 500k killed, millions displaced>>>failed debt deal that we really don't know all the details about.

We do know the details and it was not a debt deal. It was a budget deal that would've had long term effects and cuts. That deal is what led to Obama being called "weak" by Sanders and had progressives (including me) looking at him crazy.
Second, from a historical standpoint most people DO NOT believe that we have a duty to intervene all over the world. Not a single person has brought up us not doing anything in Rwanda at any point since the movie dropped. Samantha Power is the type to believe that we should intervene. But most people are actually non-interventionist right now, which is why things have to be framed in terms of our national security. I'm sorry, but the facts just don't back you up on this. No one will look back on this in 10 years and say that the US should have directly intervened in Syria, especially not with peace talks happening right now. If anything, history will look kindly on Obama's restraint. This is what I am saying about you Hillary supporters, and I'm not trying to get off topic, but you guys seem to just be standard Democrats who toe the party line and don't look at the facts. Policy should go before party or person.
As a black man, and you are one too, you should know that Democrats always win in our neighborhoods so all the bad politicians we know are Democrats. Look at all of these killings of black people, the people in charge who cover it up are almost always Democrats.
It has been argued that Clinton's history of being in the WH during Rwanda has caused her to be as hawkish as she's become since then.
Don't forget, Susan Rice was also in charge of that fukk up too.

Libya is way worse than Syria. There was nothing he could do in Syria. He took action in Libya and its went to sh1t from all accounts. Republicans will try hard to push the he lost Iraq sh1t for yrs to come. I don't consider that his faily, but that ISIS JV sh1t will haunt him if they ever pull off something big in the US
polls show 1/3 of the popul thinks we should be doing more in syria and half the population believes we have a moral obligation to be leaders when it comes to defending human rights around the world. to say no one will second guess his non-interventionism in syria is simply not true. once the entire human toll is accounted for and their suffering is properly humanized my guess is there will be long term debates about obama's syria philosophy. clinton regrets rwanda and most scholars and historians rip him for ignoring the genocide.
