I want to make it clear I'm not siding with Obama one way or another. But the reality is that whether or not the white folks in the democratic party were racist, that isn't your only concern in this country. There is a whole other population that will outright tell you they are racist and they will kill you and your family if they ever found the guts and will to do it. You had a whole other side of the political aisle, filled with outright white supremacists, pretty much okay trying to overthrow the government because their preferred white guy lost.

America is finished because it is way too fractured. Social cohesion in the United States is broken and what that means is that politicians will always stoke that division. It doesn't take much imagination that while there may be some white democrats who are against reparations, I think the obvious backlash he is referring to is the type of white people who broke into the Capitol last month to overturn an election while wearing holocaust denial shirts and carrying the confederate flags. It's most likely he is worried about these folks. Not the ones on his "side".

The sad reality is that black people draw the most ire of racists. I've seen racists say themselves when it comes to interracial dating for example. They'll say shyt like I don't mind a white Hispanic or Asian dating a white girl because they view them as closer equals but are absolutely against black folks intermingling. It's easier politically to sneak in a reparations bill for Japanese Americans than it is for black folks because these racists have a hierarchy of "worthiness" in their mind. It's the ultimate insult to them to see blacks get anything.

That whole other side of the aisle makes it plain and clear that they don't mess with me, so I can steer clear of dealing with them as much as possible. Those guys on the red side of the aisle don't like illegals coming across the border or the asian invasion, nor do they like lgbt, but the Democrats have no problem getting stuff done without their support and going to bat for those groups... but somehow they care about 'racist whitey' when it comes to getting something done for blacks, who have been their most loyal political ally? That's con game. How many more 'studies' and commissions are we going to have? All of that is the equivalent of a parent telling his kid, "I'll think about it" when that kid wants an expensive toy and the parent hopes the kid will forget about it. They are perfectly fine sending billions a year to foreign nations, but won't take care of suffering blacks here, and these are supposed to be our 'allies'.

That's exactly why I say the two parties are the same. On minute points they are different, but at the end of the day, the circumstances of blacks are the exact same no matter which 'side' is in.
