That stat actually does blacks a huge disservice, there is a much higher percentage of blacks on welfare than that of whites, which is belied by this statistic. It makes it seem like the problem (whatever you think the problem is, depending on your perspective) is spread evenly, when in fact it very much is not.

From my perspective, it is the deleterious effects of progressivism and the welfare state, which have fukked over blacks more than whites.


From the diametrically opposite view, one in which welfare is an amelioration of other injustices, "society" or "capitalism()" has screwed over more blacks than whites, leading to a much higher percentage of blacks needing welfare. If I were a liberal I think I would go with that although perhaps it's just easier to score political and black points by pinning it on conservative southern whites.

If you think about it, black Americans have only been a real part of the country, with some Rights for what about 60 years?

I wonder how well those colonists or any other nationality were doing in their first 60 years?

With that said, how many "country bumpkin white people"/rednecks do you know run companies and are productive members of society? Appalachia is steeped in poverty, yet you don't see them begging for jobs because they're resigned to mediocrity. So if hood nikkas have no intention on limiting slang, then they too are as resigned to mediocrity as their white counterparts.

i dont know what people are doing in Applalachia...but across America tell me how many black people you know that don't know how to limit they slang while on a job interview that requires good communication skills?....It amuses me people pretend black folks is running up in job interviews talking however they wanna talk as if we have no common sense,dressed however we wanna dress like we just sagging and wearing white t's when we go job hunting.

I didn't say slang shouldn't be limited,the more education you have slang limits itself....my point being slang doesn't neccesarily make you sound more stupid than "proper English" or "bumpkin"....if you dont have a way with words and cant communicate that's a weakness period.

Problem is our slang and our dresscode/apperance is the only one that comes under constant attack in america even when we just chilling and NOT on a job interview....simply because its not whats deemed the right way...and those negative perceptions are held against us even when we do put a suit and tie on and talk kings english.

So we gotta change our entire way of communicating with each other 24/7?alsochange everything else about us culturally whites dont find acceptable? all so MAYBE we can erase whites negative perceptions of us?....still up to us to keep making all the concessions huh.

Furthermore, Ebonics derived from the lack of education available to blacks in the U.S.. If more blacks were able to get a good education there would probably be no Ebonics. So in that way Ebonics is bullshyt, but most of us speak it every now and then, even those of us with a good education, funny how that is.
