Yeah Obama could just write an article or talk to journalists and that would make Republicans give up their own seats.
Obama couldn't get Republicans to not invoke the filibuster for pretty much anything he supported post-2010.
He did a primetime speech to try and pass a jobs bill called THE AMERICAN JOBS BILL during a period of high unemployment that was praised by everyone. It didn't sway one Republican in either house of Congress.
But somehow he could've convinced 50 state legislatures mostly ran by obstructionist tea party Republicans to not act in their own self-interest and gerrymander....because he's like the president and stuff.
This place is truly embarrassing sometimes.
you should take this strawman argument to someone else...
i did not claim that he could make republicans give up their seats. what i said was: using his power as the most important and powerful man in the world he could influence voters and citizens to get organized around the issue of gerrymandering...some how the obama administration is able to get up during the oscars and grammys about domestic violence but can't write a article or make a press release to inform citizens about gerrymandering...
obama did not think it was that big of a deal at the time so he didn't even bother
he wants to pass the awful TPP and he has been making a big ruckus about it recently but somehow couldn't use the same efforts to get people informed and active on gerrymandering? oh ok...
