The Dre beats went harder and don't sound nearly as dated

Obies flow, rhyme scheme, subject matter superior to 50s by far. This line alone was better than anything 50 said "They say why don't we increase the peace, the only peace to increase is that which deletes ya peeps, cause nikkaz run mouths but they don't run streets, till that 45 cease his speech"

The guest verses were better (everyone killed it on All Die One Day)

This is less about shytting on 50 and more about just how underrated Obies debut was. The second the album opens with Average Man you know you're in for some cinematic shyt. Of course it came out at a bad time when all anyone cared about was G-Unit. But this album holds up better than ANY Unit album except maybe Beg For Mercy which still goes hard too.

I remember Cheers being a very dope album.

And I give you daps, reps and props for this thread cause I respect outspoken and different opinions in rap culture.

Patiently Waiting is formulaic Eminem song

If I Can’t Do It - is a throwaway filler track with great production

High All The Time is also that

And PIMP is laughable by any real pimp standard

I went back and listened to grodt. Ppl consider it a hip hop classic. I don't.

It's got dope tracks. But as a whole can't be compared to Illmatic, Dare is a Darkside, Low End theory, or even Big L's Lifestylez.

A Griselda album is better to me.

I like The Massacre way better.

It's kids as teens when it dropped who consider that a rap classic I find.
