Just a guess, but there's a term called "white boy wasted" which implies that white people get more drunk than anyone else. I would imagine ones tact would take a severe beating in that state, so maybe the black people were just less drunk (tact was intact, so to speak) than the white people.

I don't know that this is necessarily true, but I see where you're coming from. Maybe it depends on if the person comes from a more difficult situation. A person from the struggle just tends to have more tact when dealing with a person going through any kind of struggle?

Well welcome back. I'm not a mod but I knw @Reinscarf is one of them.
I've worked for large US companies and uk ones. But I think tack is best when someone says they don't drink.
It comes up in other areas too. Like my dad is an amputee right, so as a kid my friends would have different reactions to that. Even as young kids, the white ones would be like oh my god what happened and all nosy and what-not. Not that I was offended by this at all, I wasn't. But my black friends would just see his leg, or lack thereof, and just keep it moving and not ask questions.

I live in a quiet predominately cac suburb and lemme tell you how many addicts and alchys are around here....let's just say our former felony judge would drink and drive OFTEN and would be escorted home by officers, and the misdemeanor drug had a major coke and drinking problem, went to rehab and even wore an ankle monitor behind the gavel, hell, she was wearing one when I caught my assault charge
