as a submersible coli expert since June 18th this isn't adding up 
"Supposedly".... They faked their deaths to avoid taxes. They bought off the captain of a US nuclear sub and were extracted from the sub and are now secretly living on that sub.
My uneducated guess is that it's probably the same reason the Titanic is still looking like a ship that deep. The particular metal is probably malleable/durable enough to still look like something. I'm sure if there was a side by side comparison of parts you would see some more obvious deviations.

There’s a comment on the Reddit that said James Cameron, who is apparently the Titanic expert, said communication within the Titanic community said they dropped their descent weights because there was a problem, were ascending back up, and they imploded on the ascension. He said there were alarms that went off inside to indicate the submersible was failing, and they probably knew something was wrong. So the death may have been instant, but they probably had that fear at the very end.

Why even dedicate anymore resources to this shyt? Everyone knew that thing was a ford fiesta with flippers, I don't get what they plan on learning from it's demise when there's already plenty of proven tech out there that could have done that trip safely and routinely already.
