This roster looks like a slightly better Nagano. Maybe the best in the games, but not the best Canada could have put together. Which means Canada is not regressing, it's standing still which is worse then regression.

what would have made this team better?
outside of Stamkos being injured, we still have the best roster up and down than any other team
the only reason us won that 96 world cup was because of brett hull
bobby clarke selected teh nagano roster, they failed because he made eric center when eric wasn't ready, most of these players werent suited for the big ice except for the gawd wayne gretzky who put canada on his back yet wasnt selected for the shootout.

canada isnt stacked at goaltending, european countries have passed canada in that regard.
at forwards etc. canada is fine, connor mcdavid (spose to be the next crosby), guys like mackinnon, huberdeau, drouin, kane and stamkos are still under 25.
of course this isn't basketball, the better time 99% of the time wins in basketball in olympics, not in hockey. A hot goalie like today for latvia and bring you all the way, ala hasek in 98
the players that are on the team are just as talented as the other guys, who's to say anyone of them would be any better?
we don't know, but we do know that in the NHL they are comparable

Games are not played on paper. Just without any additions PK should have played more. One of the reasons for the lack of offense is because no one is bringing the puck out of the zone effectively.

See though? The fact is the US got in Canadas heads and 24 months later that lead to a lack luster roster
its not a wash, its just the good ol boys network canada has always ran. The whole loyalty even when your ass. Nash has been horrible this year and same as last year but hes on the team for past service. Same with jeff carter, but because he was the alternate in vancouver he got that you did your time in teh past regardless of your weak stats you can make the team.

You really hate Nash. You see the game today? Did a lot of work to set up that first goal. Nice save by Latvia's goalie robbed him from a goal. Kills penalties, gets in front of the net and uses size. I got no issue with him on the team.

\i should have said turin but I was afraid I would get blasted. The thing with turin was that it was the same roster from the 2004 world cup. They were the favorites. Also if Canada loses we now have proof they can't win outside of North America.niewendyk is a hall of famer and a great player

btw people talk about rick nash like hes had multple 50 goal seasons and 80 point seasons
in 11 years rick nash 2 40 goal seasons and only 1 season over 70 points
