Back in 2010, he has athletic asthma. He wasn't playing heavy minutes in Denver, last time he averaged over 20 minutes was on Washington.

JaVale McGee is a guy who is 7'0" tall with a 7'6" wingspan, a 9'6" standing reach, and freakish leaping ability. In terms of pure physical gifts, he's more talented than DeAndre Jordan. At the very least, he should have been on DJs level.

I still think the right coach could get more out of him. In terms of pure talent, JaVale McGee is a top 3 7-footer in the NBA. Only Joel Embiid and Porzingis are clearly more talented 7 footers.

Physical/Pure Talent = Size, length, and athleticism.

Obviously high skill level also makes a guy talented. But when I use the term "pure" talent, it typically is about the guys physical gifts such as size, length, and athleticism.
