Deflategate probably made beli realize first round picks are more useful as trading chips for established players than they are for actually picking players. Especially when you are set at qb

Really feels like the pats are gearing up for that final push with 12. Trying to get him weapons for that last hurrah. But Cooks ain't even that nice. While reason he's disgruntled is cause a rookie came in and took his shine. I think Beli might be gun shy about drafting WRs.

We're lethal in the Middle of the field/Screen Passes. Teams can't cover Cooks/Hogan Deep AND Edelman/Lewis/White/Gronk and them in between the numbers and if we get a healthy Gronk it's gonna be tough to load up the box. It'll open up the short passes for sure. See what Chris Hogan did? Imagine Cooks and Hogan Running deep. It's gonna leave the Middle/Short passes part of the offense on miss matches all game long.

As you can see, Beli is more of a Defensive genius, defensive players for him are more replaceable and easier to plug than the offensive players. I'm reluctant to question any of his moves at this point. Tell me another GM that gets rid of his Best defensive player in the middle of the season and the defense actually improves. He definitely knows the system. If we do trade Butler, we already have Gillmore/Rowe/Jones and picks in a Deep CB draft. I'm sure he'll do what he does every season and get us a former 1st rounder that is not working out on another team for a late round draft pick after the pre season.

Remember 2 years ago when he let the best CB in the league Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner Walk and all we had was this undrafted Free Agent Malcom Butler known for 1 play and unproven CBs in the roster?
