Instead of settling on that 3year 5 mill per ish lotta players counting on balling out in 17 to break the bank in 18. Pryor for example can probably get 14-16 per next year if he has a similar year as last. Instead of taking that 3-4 year 8-10 mill per he would have gotten this year.

Not surprising.
This years draft is epically weak at OL. Next years doesn't look much better. Thus every team is overpaying in free agency to get competent guys.
He wanted more looks...even though he had two consecutive 1000 yard seasons.
It was obvious Drew started forcing the ball to him after the Rams game where they scored like 900 points without targeting him once. Still wasn't happy.
