The DNC coordinates with the states. Don’t be obtuse. It’s obviously not entirely on Perez but the lack of oversight over this is crazy. It’s a shyt show. I’m not one of those dudes on Twitter saying Perez planned this.
Ultimately the decisions are on the states. Even the group of 21 has said this.

Can someone explain to a moron like me what exactly the Iowa caucus is and why it's so important?
It's important because it's the first primary. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter because Iowa doesn't carry many electoral college votes (only 6) and Trump is going to take it anyway.

But it's very important as a primary because it helps clear up months of spin and bullshyt narratives. It can also give a bump to the winning candidate and might be especially important in the crowded field such as this one.

He's wildly unpopular, the polls show him trailing the top Dem candidates both nationally and in every key state, all the most important states have been electing Democrats ever since that election, and he only won in 2016 by the slimmest margin ever and WITH the Democrats pushing the most unliked presidential candidate in their history.

Literally the only way he could win is through people not being motivated to vote and staying home. When you claim he has it in the bag, you are pushing the exact narrative that could help him. Seriously, if you don't know what you're talking about, shut up.

I heard it in 2016. :yeshrug:

And for the record I'm not, nor have I ever encouraged anybody not to vote.

You asserted that this was caused by the DNC when the issue squarely rests on the shoulders of Iowans. :mjlol:

This is you assigning one mindset to all progressives again...

"There's plenty of blame to go around."
This asserts that we can place blame on more than one entity.

"During the rules reforms, the progressives pushed for more oversight over how contracts like the one for that app are handed out. The DNC didn't pass anything for more budgetary oversight in these instances though."
This isn't an assertion. It's the fact that progressives wanted stronger oversight which would help to keep things from screwing up and/or reduce suspicion if they still did.

"So the DNC can be drawn into the conversation considering they had a chance to put in more oversight and this contract wound up with a group that had worked for one candidate last election and got money from a current candidate."
This is why there are questions and anger at the DNC. Not only did they deny the increased oversight. But the contract for this app wound up with former Hillary for America staffers who then received money from Pete Buttigeig. Combine the DNC blocking more oversight with the image of certain presidential candidates being involved in app development and you get...

"No matter how you want to spin it, it looks sketchy."
Which is the absolute conclusion and if you can't even concede that, you're just being obtuse.

That's the whole post, no assertion of who "caused" this. Just a couple of facts that explain how the mindset that DNC deserves some blame is involved. You really have to be stubborn not to get why people are pissed about this. Biden's the one who demanded a review. It looks sketchy to everybody and more oversight might have helped avoid that. Nothing in my post asserts more than that, so stop letting trying to infer shyt that isn't there.

Does anyone have an NY Times account? There’s an article on there about how it all went down but I can’t read it.

I agree with everything else, but we should probably expand that just a bit to throw in that people need to be on the lookout for straight up voter suppression. He can win if people aren't motivated to show up or if people aren't allowed to vote and the GOP is definitely going to use both strategies. But co-sign the full sentiment of this post. People saying Trump can't be beaten are doing him a favor by sowing disillusion.

Nah it looks incompetently ran.

Everything else is based on assumptions. You don't know the vetting process. You don't know if Iowa did not receive the support it needed or asked for.

You're just making a series of assumptions to fit your your conclusions instead of following the facts.

No need for a long ass post in response either.
