Even so, Massachusetts and Vermont not going to go Red as they are the candidates.
Remember when Ted Kennedy passed and then a Republican held his seat until Warren beat him? He was able to get concessions on Obamacare just being in that position. What if the Massachusetts governor tuns for that seat himself? That’s not a gimme.

he saying the governors would appoint republican senators once they have to leave those positions to assume executive positions

so mass and vermont would have interim republican senators until special elections are held

Yeah, I know they both would get the  stern look if a Russian supporter of a GOP candidate took their seat.

I’m aware. That’s why I said “expedited run-off.” Under MA law you have 145 days to have a run off election. The governor can appoint in the interim. You could have a scenario where Massachusetts has a Republican senator for a quarter of the year. Massachusetts would probably end up with Kennedy versus the governor in the Senate race.

both brown and baker beat martha coakley who is one of the worst political candidates in the state's history. as long as shes not the nominee AGAIN i dont see a republican winning a Mass. senate election

massachusetts electorate is much more likely to vote for republicans in state elections than federal ones

The democrats need to just go ahead and forfeit the November elections. This is really aggravating.
