Lets be clear. JJ is not good and it's annoying that he's gonna now get lit up over the next few weeks by teams whose specials teams aren't handing him short fields. 17 of the points came on short fields due to special teams lapses or turnovers. I'll give him credit for beating us with that 1st down throw. That was a great throw.
Morton deserves to be shyt on but the bigger issue was special teams. That being said I'm rather concerned that this was the gameplan after a buy. The thing I hate about Morton is that he's from that school of old football guys who work 18 hours a day, watch film all day, come up with all types of ideas yet can't act actually perform on game day. Dude was bragging about working through the bye week while everyone else went home. That's not impressive, it's inefficient. But that's what those Gruden/Belichick/etc type guys were on. And I'm starting to think we got a problem. If you can't handle interior pressure you need to make it easier for your RBs and TEs to block. Instead we made it harder for them to block. Didn't really address the LB blitzes up the middle until late in the third quarter.
And once again...the spamming. You spam LaPorta for the first 5 minutes of the game and then he pretty much disappears until the second half. Or you spam Gibbs on basic runs on 1st down. Same with Monty.
