Yeah the more I reflect on the season, the more apparent the need to get rid of Thibs is. He did well at a lot of aspects of his job, but not using the bench at all, and sticking with Josh as a starter, despite every metric showing him to be a poor fit, can't be described as anything other than malpractice. If Josh was gonna be defended like a center, just put an actual center out there then. Or a shooter like Mcbride.

Team needs to move on from thibs he did good for the 5 years hes been coaching this team but it's time to move on

Also it seems like kat might be gone this off season but idk if he should be moved

Moved for who?

wild to see KAT getting all this blame when he is the best player on your team.

Better than Brunson?

Minnesota found him to be replaceable and they aren't even jn love with his replacement. They tried to give him away and no one wanted Randle.

Let's not act like Mikal Bridges ain't here who's still the player with the most trade value on the Knicks. KAT is KAT. All the great things he was, he is in NY. Problem is, so is all of the bad things. This has been KAT for years. This isn't new. He's late and missing rotations on defense like crazy. Minnesota already proved he's a bad drop center but NY fukked around a put a PG who can't switch so it's drop or die and of course, guess what happens to KAT in these situations

None of this is new. What is new is i didn't realize how not much of a PnR PG is Brunson. I used to think he was better than Trae because he can run an offense 10x better but he can't run the PnR at all. Washed Derrick Rose is superior to Brunson at it. This is KAT bread and butter and he can't do it well.

Brunson is an ecosystem PG. That's good. He's an excellent player and the Knicks is a perfect fit with Thibs but it's hard to see the fit working with him and KAT
Flipside teams got to look at KAT and say if we have a defensive PG he might be able to bring elite offense and good enough defense.

Brunson needs mentoring and to improve but he Is relatively new as a starting PG. There is still room to grow. You mention Trae, and Trae been a starting PG longer than Brunson, same for JA.

Ehhh.....don't want to make the same mistake twice. Giving a guy who should be a role player getting 20 mins at the max a starting role. Shamet isn't a starter imo.
I hear you. They might not have a choice tho. Between, Josh, Deuce and Mitch, you could probably get away with only playing Shamet 20-25 a night.

Absolutely, Brunson is just as bad if not worse than KAT in defense and he is what held your offense back. knicks looked so much better whenever Brunson wasn’t on the floor offensively and defensively imo

Brunson does fine as a pick and roll guard and it worked really well with KAT the first 2 months of the season. It stopped working the moment teams started putting their centers on Josh Hart. We ran more pick and rolls with Josh (It feels that way at least) just to force the mismatch on Brunson. Any Towns/Brunson pick and rolls had to contend with a center sagging off of Hart, or a wing crowding Towns on the perimeter, taking away his drives and his spot ups.
Explain when Hart is not in the game? It hasn't been successful. Nor is it with Robinson either. What is it? Sounds like excuses

You need more than that for KAT. The 4 is more important than anything. You basically need JJJ next to him. You know how hard it is to find JJJ outside of JJJ

KAT essentially needs to be a 4 unless he's guarding a 5 like Jokic or Embiid. That's why guys like Myles Turner are hell on wheels for KAT

I don’t think you need a 4 like that next to him. Teams might lean in further on the offense and see KAT as a stretch 5.

The only real problem is that Brunson - KAT defense together is something teams will target going forward.
