Lol the qualifiers are crazy outside of this, outside of that. It’s like y’all expect teams to roll over and let us crush them.

Most of fukking Indiana’s run has not been pretty.
Stop captain save a ho’ing for Thibs. He had his run and they didn’t look good the majority of the time. Let’s forget the fact he won a game against the pacers opening up the bench and then went right back to a short rotation the next game and they lost game 4.

There was just as much evidence he should be fired as there was they should keep him, maybe more If we keep it a buck since he did the bare minimum to keep his job by reaching the ECF, and then you had to add in the fact that the players were tired of his shyt too.

Forget Bickerstaff and Mazzula, Spo and Carlisle been kicking his ass for years and they in the east. Its time for a new coach.

These are h*es :heh: we know who they are…Mikal skated probably because it was his first year or because of his geek personality but he skated. It’s going to get much tougher for him if he doesn’t perform.

33% from 3 in the playoffs while evading contact :scust:

Cap was rocking with Thibs and KAT knows the deal and Pacome just shouted him out :shaq2:

Lmao Rick Carlisle would have us scoring 140 on that pacers defensive personnel, consistently having exploited poor defensive rotations and communication. (Implemented by thibs).
They’re shooting high percentages while also having (by far) the best shot quality of teams in the playoffs. They generate open looks more than any team in the league besides the Cavs. And they do this with haliburton off the court. This is systemic. If we prioritized shot quality over rebounding we would pummel teams off sheer talent.
They scored in transition repeatedly cause we had poorly balanced floor (coaching)

Personnel matters. We have slightly more high end talent than them while they are deeper at every position.

Big difference from McConnell and Nembhard running the show behind your star guard and Cam fukking Payne.

Spo and Carslile could have been fired many times over throughout their careers.

They’ve been eliminated from the playoffs as much as anyone and even had mediocre regular seasons and went through high points and low points in the orgs they’ve coached for. U think they never lost due to shyt you could blame on line ups and tactics? U bet.

But they’re with actual organizations where there isn’t ego and players aren’t bigger than the program. The Knicks are not showing themselves to be that top down and that’s a major problem. This is why I go so hard for riding with Thibs and trusting a process because that’s how winning and sustained success happens.

He wasted this year. Team was better than the outcome this playoffs.
The team was right where pundits predicted them to be in RS despite injuries and went further in the playoffs than most imagined.

Tj McConnell wouldn’t do that shyt here lol. It’s a reason he was scrounging around for vet minimums before Carlisle got him paid. He’s literally not like that. Solid player. A pros pro. But nah. Pacers had multiple fringe nba players in their rotation giving them quality minutes and them taking open shots within the structure of their offense. Thomas Bryant had one foot out the nba. Tony Bradley? :mjlol: Ben shepherd :mjlol:
Coaching is about hiding flaws and bolstering strengths. Thibs struggled with this all year.

Carlisle been fired mad times and Spo might be the best current coach in the damn league. WTF are you talking about? Both of them are better than Thibs.

Bro when are you going to stop having this Thibs Tantrum? Like it’s more entertaining than this year’s Finals but it’s still exhausting.

He is like that. We’ve been seeing for years that he’s clearly like that for years. It doesn’t matter what he was being paid in the past. He is a penetrator and a beast 10 feet in. He’s one of the better back ups in the league and better than Payne. Thibs would love that guy.

The Pacers are deeper than us at every position and the gap between our starters isn’t as wide as you think.

Rick was in Dallas for over a decade and it’s looking like that will be the case in Indiana too shyt this is his third run in that org. :mjlol:

U should see how Miami fans talk about Spoelstra dude has been allowed to appreciate in time his job wasn’t safe in the Big 3 era:mjlol:

We selfish top down with the most toxic fans. I’m just hoping this isn’t the start of an implosion.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait and see on the coaching hire before I get too high or low about it. I was in the "keep Thibs" camp, but I get why they chose a different direction. What sucks is I feel like last season's roster was perfect for him. This roster didn't match Thibs as well as that, but he still got results.

I'm curious about what the Knicks do to fill in the last roster needs. I know the rumors are all focused on KD and Giannis, but I can't imagine it. So, I'm thinking about getting a stretch-4 and an additional ball-handler. But I wonder who will be available and how the Knicks will operate within the confines of the apron.

Sure bro, Thibs is on the same level of Spo and Carlisle… sure:comeon:
Hart is a great bench piece, the biggest impact he made was when he came here and was a change of pace sixth man. A better coach would want to see if Deuce or Mitch fits better with the starters once Brunson comes back.

A better coach would be bugging the FO saying “we need a Forward so Bridges can play SG and OG can play SF/PF depending on the lineup”

If this team doesn’t make the ECF they need to jettison him.
I said this in March @ISO …. Wanting Thibs gone was not being selfish it was having eyes. Instead doing line up changes Thibs didn’t try Mitch until the playoffs which might have been a plan, but he never tried Mcbride. Plus instead of them going all out to get a forward to move Bridges to SG and OG to SF they had to get PJ Tucker to help the locker room?!? On top of the roster issues he straight up got outcoached by Carlisle.

Thibs doesnt deserve your tears. :hubie:

The Knicks fired Thibs and really didn’t have a back up plan. Based on the Athletic article which I posted below, Kidd is just leveraging the Knicks for a bigger extension with Dallas.

From the Athletic:

Amid widespread speculation that Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd could force his way out to join the New York Knicks, there are strong signs that the 52-year-old Hall of Famer will stay put.

As The Athletic reported, the Knicks have serious interest in hiring Kidd — who has two seasons left on his contract — after they shockingly fired Tom Thibodeau last week. Yet according to team and league sources, the Mavericks continue to privately insist to key stakeholders that Kidd won’t be going anywhere. According to a team source, the Knicks had yet to request permission to speak with Kidd as of Tuesday afternoon.

The widely held belief is that Kidd, ultimately, is hoping to parlay the Knicks’ interest into a lucrative contract extension. It remains to be seen how Kidd might respond if he doesn’t get the desired extension, and there is historical precedent here when it comes to Kidd spurning the Mavericks for the Knicks.

At the end of his decorated 19-year playing career — in the summer of 2012 — Kidd was expected to re-sign with the Mavericks in free agency. But he changed course abruptly, signing a multiyear deal to play alongside Carmelo Anthony in New York. As of now, the Mavericks don’t believe that Kidd will leave them for the Knicks again.

Kidd has been present at the Mavericks’ practice facility this past week as they’ve held workouts and has functioned in a business-as-usual capacity. What’s more, the negotiations with former Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns head coach Jay Triano for a lead assistant-coaching position with the Mavericks have been revealing when it comes to Kidd.

According to a league source, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison made it clear to Triano during the process that Kidd would remain the head coach. Triano, the league source said, agreed to terms on the assistant position on Tuesday. NBA reporter Jake Fischer was first to report on the Mavericks’ interest in Triano.

Triano has spent the past three years as a Sacramento Kings assistant. In September, he was promoted to associate head coach. The Kings fired his boss Mike Brown in December and tapped Doug Christie for their head-coaching position.

The Knicks are the only NBA team with a head-coaching vacancy right now. They fired Thibodeau after he led them to the playoffs in four of the five years he was in charge. New York made the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years this past spring, but it still decided to part ways with Thibodeau.

Kidd, who was one of the candidates the Knicks interviewed in their 2020 hiring cycle, has a strong relationship with New York’s star point guard in Jalen Brunson. Kidd coached Brunson for one season with the Mavericks in 2021-22. Brunson’s strong performance in the 2022 playoffs helped him earn a four-year, $104 million deal with the Knicks.

The Mavericks have downplayed the possibility of a Kidd-Brunson reunion this week. The belief internally in Dallas is that Kidd will be the team’s coach next season.

My comment about selfishness wasn’t about Thibs.

It’s about the unraveling that’s occurring. From OG being delusional and wanting more touches down to rumblings about the front office feeling Thibs was getting more credit than they were for the turnaround to Mikal thinking he’s bigger than the program to Deuce thinking about his next pay day and it goes on and on. Slowly “the Brunsons” are also coming with baggage. Things are coming up about Rick, we’ve seen things from Rick, I love Brunson but a lot of fans are taking aim at his playstyle.

There’s no reason for a franchise that had its most successful season in 25 years to be engulfed in so much negativity and uncertainty. The worse things is the fans love it and feed into it.
