I think some of the mainstream media is being disingenuous. Either they didn't watch the season, the playoffs, or they want to create more of a story because it's NY. No one can objectively look at our roster & really watched how the season & playoffs played out & say we played our best basketball or the players/roster were put in the best position to succeed. Thibs couldn't get out of his own damn way to help the team more than he did

Regardless of everything Thibs has been one of the most-talked about coaches for the past couple years. Knicks becoming relevant again mixed with the whole minutes played and injuries (last year) issues. So him getting fired just days after leading the Knicks to their best season in 25 years was for sure gonna make articles for at least until we hire someone else.

It also reminds me of the last coaching search that ended up with Thibs. The Knicks interviews a ton of coaches, and the media kept dropping hot takes disguised as rumors or inside information. The worst part is this is just a pregame...the second KD and Giannis trade rumors start, we'll be buried in rumors that will all be spun negative.

"Knicks inquire about Giannis, but they're delusional!"
"Knicks not interested in Giannis, not even trying for a generational talent is a misstep"
"Knicks made offer for Giannis but were rebuffed, the audacity to make an offer is insane"
"Giannis to San Antonio for 6 picks, Devin Vassell, and Harrison Barnes...the Knicks will never win a championship now."
So true! We deal with all that shyt every season come trade deadline or free agent signings. We all have to stop falling for the okie doke with the media/players/agents using NY for clout & leverage lol

This FO is pretty competent & we just have to sit back watch & laugh at the BS the media will throw out there. Until something is official, I'm in chill mode

True. But I wish these same media clowns & pundits would talk more about long Thibs kept to a starting unit that didn't work with the analytics to prove it. Then he waits till the end of the damn playoffs to start experimenting lol. It's crazy how they're trying to spin this as if Thibs wasn't in control of his own destiny

That's fair. I also think, like a friend of mine said, that he wouldn't have been fired had we lost against the Cs as damn near everyone expected us to. Beating them and reaching the ECF heightened the expectations, which brutally came crashing down just days after in the G1 disaster.

Truth bro! They're creating news & making it bigger than what it was for headlines. Like most of these non Knick coli posters regurgitating the same weak talking points. It goes to show they're either being disingenuous or don't watch the Knicks lol. Like teams haven't/don't do what the Knicks are doing contacting coaches.

That's why I'm not worried about what this FO's doing like in times past
All the “Knicks didn’t have a plan” tweets from general nba twitter people i actually respected was depressing.

Due diligence is cool but why interview a coach like Udoka whose clearly good money where he’s at :skip:

Kidd is the only one that looked like he could be on the out.

The only teams here to have won a championship in the last 15 years are the Giants in 2012, NYCFC in 2021, and the Liberty in 2024.

The three teams with the best winning percentage (Rangers, Yankees, and Red Bulls) haven't won sh!t in the last 15 years.

I think he was always getting fired actually. The front office seemed fed up with him for months. This dude was breaking down our flaws on offense during the Pistons series. Mind you, the lack of practice was Thibs compromise for the long minutes. Again, at the time I was with it. But once it’s revealed that he was wrong, in a season where it turns out the championship was wide open, that’s a fireable offense.
