Be careful what ya’ll wish for, cause 9 times out of 10 they gonna have to send Mitch out to make salaries match, unless they pull a very unlikely Precious S&T.
I'd be very surprised if they traded Mitch. He had such an impact on the floor when he was out there & we all know Thibs was under utilizing him big time

I think you are right but 50/50 cause with a new coach comes a new system so we don’t know.

If OK ends the finals tonight I expect there to be a flurry of moves.

IIIFFFF we were to trade Mitch for Donte, who do yall like as his replacement? Assuming Huk is the third center.

Nobody…. :yeshrug:….. Mitch looked like the best defensive center in the whole damn playoffs. Breh was switching, banging in the paint to get rebounds, trapping guys by himself. If they trade Mitch it should be for a decent first and DDV.

Like lowkey I think Mitch Is more important to this team than DDV, and a S&T of Precious to finesse DDV would be the only way I would support it happening. DDV had a career year here, Mitch has been a Solid contributor whenever he is healthy.

While i feel you, i genuinely think Donte is a slightly better fit for this team and what it should do than Mitch is. Unless a new coach comes in and finally uses Mitch consistently as a lob threat…

I don't know. Mitch makes an immediate impact on the game whether it's rebounding, deterring players from getting into the paint, or altering shots. I lke DDV but I just don't think he effects the game/team as much

Donte’s ability to let the team play five out, can hold his own at least on defense, and can be a secondary ball handler could make our offense devastating. In simpler terms, Donte could take our offense form a 6 to a 9. Mitch takes our defense from a 6 to a 8.

As good as Mitch is, if he’s not going to start, getting like 70% of him off the bench but getting his at least equal at another key position could be better for the team. The idea becomes, would you prefer Mitch in the starting lineup and someone like Shamet off the bench, or Donte in the starting lineup and say a Brooke Lopez or Clint Capela off the bench? (I don’t think we could get Kornet off the Vet Min).

Anyone have this article? January is interesting I remember around that time he was calling himself an “elite defender”…

because no Donte, no deal.

where would Mitch end up in this scenario?
This was all dependent on the unlikely KD scenario.
Phoenix would get Randle, Mitch, Dillingham and Shannon. Minny gets KD. Knicks get Donte.

Another workaround would be offloading Mitch to WAS and Minny getting cap relief.

This trade benefits Phoenix so damn much they would fools not to take this deal. That being said Julius isn’t eligible to be traded right now unless he opts into his final year. He probably doesn’t do that without a contract extension.

Trading Mitch for Donte doesn’t seem like a smart move. Mitch is too damn impactful
