The only real issue there has ever been or ever will be for GaaS ( I need to copyright this :jbhmm:) , is bandwidth, latency, and connectivity. US internet providers will continue to be the bottleneck in this type of gaming.

at the end of the day people still want the options of owning games. This is the problem with games going from being a niche industry (100 millions-to high billions/trillions) it's gonna bring in a bunch of scummy ways to monetize it that rob us of agency over our libraries. I'm almost on board with the game preppers that have been screaming about the death of physical being a bad thing now.

and yeah, like you said, it's not even a US versus other places thing. There are many places in the US they get garbage internet service. Even in new york city there are neighborhoods that don't have good hi-speed internet, I didn't have it when i lived in the heights in 2013.

If I should decide to move out to the wilderness to avoid the apocalypse, I can't bring my games?

Amazon has the infrastructure to really make this successful. Even with Azure's datacenter footprint propping up xCloud/Gamepass, AWS is still the king for a reason.

The real loser here is my beloved Google.

The fact that Luna already has a comparable if not better library than Stadia despite the one year lead for Google is :hhh:

As someone who actually owns a Stadia setup they bout to get their wigs pushed back unless they get super aggressive on all fronts which I find unlikely at this point:patrice:
