Amazon could be a problem, but won't.

Why? They have no hardware.

They literally could have been a new player in the game with hardware.

Now depending on how aggressive they are with buying up talent then you could see something.

But the last gaming company I recall Amazon buying was double helix and they haven't done anything with me yet.

You aren't going to making a n this gaming industry without a piece of hardware

What makes you think they won't invest in hardware....

And don't let Apple hit the "Hey Guys!!!"

GaaS is an agnostic offering so it makes hardware mostly irrelevant if it supports multiple platforms.

I sense a slight tad of shookness in this post

I expect passive-aggressive Amazon hit pieces from you in the future

completely agree. when i found out google was joing the gaming race i was excited to see what a console powered by google would be capable of. all that shyt faded when i found out it was a streaming service. now im just waiting for it to completely fall off to get one of the controllers.

Amazon getting into GAAS can be a problem

Stadia
Gamespass
PS Now

Amazon can make them all fall back.

If thats the case Amazon music would be the top
music streaming service.

The company everyone should worry about is Apple, which could be why Game Pass isnt allowed on iPhone

That's the point though - they're a cloud provider, they don't NEED hardware. They give you a URL and a controller and you're in there. All you need is the bandwidth and subscription. The money is in the subscriptions because almost all of us probably subscribe to some shyt we don't really need but it ain't hurting our pockets enough to cancel. This is an easy 6 bucks a month for them, and they didn't have to do much infrastructure work because it was already in place for AWS. This is where Microsoft is trying to get and where Google could have been.

Was just reading about this and all the other Amazon products announced. Signed up for early access to see what it's all about. Wish it were combined with prime but hopefully one day it will. Don't know what the games will be like but if they get some good ones then they should be able to compete.
