Honestly, I wouldn't root if I were you. Rooting is the easy part. If you can't figure that out you're not going to like living that dev life.
I rooted my OG Droid, it allows a lot more control, but I never rooted again, cuz I'm just not about that life (actually I did root my nexus 7, but that's cuz I use that for a specialized use and needed some features in Tasker that are only available if rooted)

yepOK, I'm standing in the Verizon store, after playing with the s5 and the M8 I think I'm gonna cop this S5. Very comparable phones, but in almost every statistical category that I've checked here (didn't do camera, not that important to me) I've preferred the Samsung.

the Galaxy S5 typically uses 1.20GBs of RAM on bullshyt. Maybe he'd like to free some of that up.

Right now I'm rocking with the Samsung stock keyboard on the S5. I like the way it has the row of numbers above the qwerty keyboard. It's swiping is good, but Swype does the best implementation.
Swype is better at predicting words (particularly when I spell them incorrectly). It uses swiping action to use special characters such as " ? and ! It allows for the easiest capitalization (swipe up). And what I miss most is the shortcuts for copy (Swype + c) cut ( Swype + x) and paste (Swype + v). I really wish Google would just acquire them.
