I have tmobile and im currently on that "financed phone" plan. I bought a sim from them...i dont talk much but i do have that google number...I use that for my one night stands :lolbron:

Gonna have to invest into that prepaid plan if i can keep my regular number
i know you can port numbers from other carriers. i'm not sure if you you can switch an existing tmobile number to the $30 plan but i dont see why not

if you're financing a phone from t-mobile dont they have you under contract though?

ok so i did a little research and i dont think you can port any existing tmobile number to the $30 plan

but what you can do is port your current mobile number to google voice so what is your current mobile number will now be your google number and then just sign up for the $30 plan....you'll get a new mobile number which you can use for your one night stands lol

i think it's better to have your google number be your primary number anyway

this way you can take your number with you regardless of what carrier you're on and not have to worry about porting

also if you ever forget your phone you can log into your google account on a computer and be able to see and reply to your texts or make/receive calls etc

True. But google voice cant send media correct?
well i can send and receive mms to people on all carriers except verizon

however when i send a picture to someone it sends them a url link to view the picture

so if you send a pic to someone that doesn't have mobile web they might not be able to see the pic

i haven't tried to send videos yet in hangouts but i think the above would apply to videos too

Anyone download the new chrome update and is it messed up to you? The browser keeps opening up in a small floating window. And reloads everytime I open the app. Frustrating as hell.

Sony's new sensor could bring DSLR-like autofocus to phones

While there's speculation that multi-sensor phone cameras are the next big thing, Sony has just launched a sensor that will likely make its smartphone cameras better soon. The latest Exmor RS IMX230 is a so-called stacked CMOS sensor that squeezes an effective 21-megapixels into a 1/2.4-inch sized form factor. The killer feature, however, is built-in 192-point phase-detection autofocus, which will keep fast-moving subjects sharp. The new chip also has integrated HDR for high-res stills and 4K video to save shots that are overly backlit or in shadow (see the image below).

Sony has a hot hand in cameras and particularly in sensors, which earned it $2.4 billion last quarter. Its Exmor sensor is used in Apple's iPhone 6, along with other Android handsets like the OnePlus One. The new Exmor RS model will appear in April next year, perhaps in time for Sony's next flagship handset, which would give it one of the best Android smartphone camera options. However, there's nothing much wrong with the cameras in Sony's current smartphone lineup, yet its mobile division is still losing loads of money.
