Aight, how do I deactivate Google Talk now that I have Hangouts?

:beli:

I'm still getting the GTalk notifications on my phone, when I go to open it up from the notification screen it doesn't open up the app (because it's now Hangouts) Anybody know how to fix this?
EDIT: just had to reboot my phone to get rid of the GTalk notifications

SMS needs to die and idiots holding onto a 20$ per month service from carriers :mjpls:

they force googles hand. They had the right idea. Integrated sms wont work with ios anyways so whats the point.

we need it to be BBM not imessage....:stopitslime::shaq:

Unless Google starts pushing Hangout then SMS will always be needed because it is unified by default. SMS should have just been built into this shyt day 1 anyway.

SMS is on it's death bed. XMPP based messaging is where it's at. The only reason the move hasn't been made quicker is because carriers don't want to lose out on the SMS profits.

Google is going to sell out now and integrate SMS. Kind of disappointed in them.

Until there is WiFi everywhere we'll still need SMS. If youre in an area with no data reception, but theres still cell service you can send SMS
