Finally used Google Wallet for the first time. Wouldn't work till I opened the app tho. That normal? Heard it didn't need to be open.

It has a variable timeout in settings, where it will still work within x minutes since last opened. The reasoning is so that someone cannot trigger it without your consent.

Imagine Google wallet was widespread, someone in a crowded subway, bus, etc. with a mobile nfc payment terminal could siphon a fair amount of money just scanning pockets.

A little too late. This would've been a good move like 3-4 years ago when they were struggling with their smartphone market. Google needs to create something similar like iMessage.
Defo not too late.
I know quite a few people that still use it.
And If it came a lot of people would jump back on board.

It's late because other apps like Whatsapp and iMessage have replaced it. What features does BBM have that other apps are not able to add later down the road or don't already have?

Touch control is one of my favorite apps. Definitely saves my power button waking the phone.

Hope your rooted and flashed. Had one before my N4. They were doing us dirty with the updates. Might have just got JB within the last month or 2.

originally from the 'ville
not sure if asked already, but fukk going through this thread.

i have a galaxy s3. For music, I mostly used a separate mp3 player that doesn't hold all my music, and the phone for everything else (to save battery). Currently I play music through Google Play Music and try to keep the most played songs on my device through the "keep on my device" feature. This way I don't waste data streaming my library when I could put it on my phone.

To that end, I decided to forgo my mp3 player (i was still rocking a zune :scusthov:) and use my phone for all my music needs. So I bought an sd card to hold all my music on my phone.

The problem is Google Play Music, to my knowledge, doesn't allow one to download to an external sd card, only to the device.

So the question is this: What's the best method/software for syncing/playing music on android. I'm sure itunes doesn't work right? Right now I use zune software which is ehh at best.

Essentially I just want something where I can easily download music to my computer, edit tags and stuff in some software like itunes, and easily sync to my phone without a lot of dragging and dropping and manually copying files.
