Thanks. I didn't realize the S4 is only 3 months away from release. Unless the S4 is significantly better, I may still get the S3 as I'm sure it will get significantly cheaper once the 4 drops.

Man i hope google isn't trying to play me with this replacement...

Just finished setting up.
YouTube is smooth (didn't update) and wifi is good, re downloading images, apps, setting up email took a good minute.

I'm still concerned with the seal being broken on both sides of the box (Samsung states "Don't accept if seal is broken.")
If I'm paying full price for a refurbish model...

Google's process of returns is :dry:

download the UberMusic apk. It's simple and has lock screen controls. The only thing missing is drop down menu controls.

Or, you can go with the Playerpro but you have to pay for it. It's a solid mp3 player as well.

I played with the nexus 4 yesterday and its straight except the size.

Google has been sending people replacements/new orders with both or 1 seal damaged, who does that.

Reports of people getting replacements in worse conditions.

It's doubtful they even have refurbished units available at this point as they've been selling out. It's common to keep some stock unpackaged for replacements.

For example, I had my galaxy nexus replaced a month after buying it at launch for a screen issue and it arrived in refurb packaging with a manufacture date of a week ago. It was definitely a new unit, just not packaged as new. And it's been working great for a year now.

So don't get hung up on those seals breh. It's really not a big deal.

What most likely happened is they opened it before shipping it to you to make sure it was 100%, to avoid having to do a second replacement. Again, I'm sure it's new given the recent release date.
