I wanna see what that camera about.
But the specs are average.
It's smaller tho so I'm also hoping it's more one hand friendly
Moto X is a game changer. Moto is actually optimization their software sorta like Apple to run good on any hardware
The Moto X is meant to disrupt the way we think about Android phones. We see the rumored specs and are immediately disappointed because the previous similar spec phone performed poorly. Windows phone and the iphone fans always say that android need the latest hardware for it to run smoothly. Its aiming to kill the misconceptions of the media and doubters. Also it help with updates because OEM always claim their old devices cant handle their new software ** cough HTC. The One S debacle can be avoided. Also Android 5.0 will be optimized to run on lower spec device. The moto X is the experiment of google and motorola to fix the device support issue. Apple and windows phone are still using dual core and the software is said to be smoother than android. Moto X is very important to the direction of android. It forces OEM to step back and focus on software optimization with their software. Motorola is there to push the other android vendors. Like Duarte said the nexus 4 spoiled the android team. They didn't optimize 4.2 for lower spec device. OEM throw new hardware at their software issues. This all will result in better out the box experience and longer device support.

You don't know shyt about phones.
A phone will be outdated in 6 months. So you're never going to have the best technology unless you update to the best phone out every six phones. Why do you think HTC will release an updated version of the HTC One later this year and release another version of the HTC One next summer. That's 3 versions of the phone in about a year.
Specs are fukked overrated. People always bytch and moan about specs, but don't know how hard it is and how long it takes to design a phone. Do you realize you're in the minority when it comes to caring about specs? Most of the consumers want a good quality phone that's made to last a while, easy to use, and has a lot of accessories. Do you see Apple using the greatest and best technology on their phones?
Get a clue on how a phone is build and design... Do your research on how much it cost to research, design, and build a phone.
Anyone can be a build a phone with a 5 inch screen, 16 GB, the best processor, 3 GB of Ram, one of the best cameras available, 4.3 JB, etc. Now let's see how well they engineer the phone to work.
Do you see iPhone users caring so much about specs?
What's more impressive? Building a phone with all the latest technology, but the software and user experience is shyt, or building a midrange phone that shows other companies that you do not need to have the best and greatest technology to run the latest version of Android.
Verizon to Introduce “VZ Edge” Upgrade Plan, Upgrade to New Phones Once 50% of Previous is Paid Off
Back in April, after extending upgrade periods to a full 24 months, Verizon introduced a new device payment that would allow customers to upgrade phones by purchasing them at full prices with the payments spread out over a 12-month period. According to sources of ours, Verizon will introduce a new upgrade initiative on August 25 called “VZ Edge” that will allow customers to upgrade their phones much more frequently to “stay on the leading edge of technology.”
In an training slide detailing the new plan, we can see that Verizon is offering up VZ Edge as a way for customers to avoid signing contracts and upgrade fees, while remaining on the “best network” and with the latest devices. All of the specifics are not yet available, but this slide does mention that if customers are on the previously mentioned monthly payment plan, that they can upgrade to a new device at any time once they have paid off 50% of their current phone. The document doesn’t say specifically, but we would assume that this new VZ Edge plan is for those who participate in the device payment plan only.
While the pricing of Verizon’s plans may not be the cheapest in the land, this is at least a move in the right direction in terms of offering customers upgrade options, especially after they raised upgrade periods to 24 months. With this new VZ Edge plan, you could upgrade quite often and still never have to sign a new contract. Isn’t that what you all want?
