I just got done watching this BBC interview with Sony CEO Kaz Hirai. I swear this nikka asked the dumbest question in the 1st minute of the video & Kaz answered back with an answer that should've already been obvious to the interviewer:

I'm assuming you're referring to custom roms here... Which phone? Look it up on the XDA forums and eat

if you aren't looking to get that deep into it... you can do quite a few things with a custom launcher. I personally use Nova
i was told this
GSDG = Goog Set, Droid Gang.

Android allows for a lot of customization. I could have the same exact phone as someone else on this board, yet our phones could look completely different on the software side. Iphone's pretty much look and act the same. With Android, I could use the phone how the original manufacturer intended or make it to look like an iPhone orWindows phone if I felt like it.
I don't have a specific in mind, I'm completly new to android and wish to cop one in a few weeks or more, yes I want to get deep into it :blessed:

Chrome Beta for Android Gets “Add to Homescreen” Shortcuts for Sites and Web Apps

In the newest Chrome Beta (build 31) for Android, Google added a new “Add to homescreen” option that allows you to create shortcuts to your favorite websites that can be displayed on your home screen. If your favorite websites have been coded properly, some will even show up as apps in your app switcher and direct you to more of a web app experience than just the Chrome browser.

To create a shortcut on your home screen, visit your favorite website (like DL), press the action overflow menu, and look for the “Add to homescreen” option. Once you rename the shortcut to whatever you’d like, you should see the shortcut appear.

Google is also testing out a new New Tab page with middle-placed search box, which can be viewed below. This new experience has actually been available in chrome:flags for some time, but Google appears ready to make it the new default. They discovered that many people still visit google.com to do searches rather than using the omnibox and hope that by placing a search box front and center in a new tab will help change that.

And so it begins. I have long theorized about Google's merging Chrome and Android (in one form or another - can't ignore the bajilion or so app already in Play). While the writing has been on the wall for some time (http://goo.gl/DuZSzr, http://goo.gl/XRLuww, http://goo.gl/pYeO9u), this is the first direct and visible step.

I fully except Google to keep on going from here, not stoping until there is a full webstack (html/js/css) available to run apps on mobile with an experience and featureset on par with native apps.
