Thats weird I'm hearing about so many problems with hangouts. Its been straight with me from day 1. Once I realized it handled group texts like a champ everything was a go as far as i was concerned even though my google chat contact list is type flimsy.
I still haven't got 4.4.1 or 4.4.2 and I have a Nexus 4 (I even got it at release).
The slow updates are killing me
I can't even sync my work e-mail because it works through Exchange. How did they screw this up?

You should get HSPA+ which is still labeled 4G and is pretty fast

Maybe I don't have an ear for it but my N5 's speaker sounds fine. Admittedly I don't listen to music via the speakers and always use earphones but my ringtones always sound fine.
